Make a Difference. Join Our Board of Directors.

We're always looking for new, dedicated talent to join our Board of Directors. Do you have a passion for climate adaptation and resilience, rural and Indigenous communities, capacity development, fundraising? We would love to have you share your skills and talents with us as a board member.

The Model Forest Policy Program has been helping rural and Indigenous communities reduce their climate risks and adapt to a changing climate since 2010. Our work is led by a small but highly effective team of passionate and dedicated individuals driven to advance lasting resilience in the communities where it’s needed the most.

We're currently seeking candidates with the experience, knowledge, and passion to help govern our organization. MFPP’s Board of Directors is responsible for providing strategic guidance and financial and operational oversight for the organization. Board members work together during quarterly virtual board meetings and on an individual basis to get this done.

We're looking for candidates who will expand our Board’s expertise and perspectives and draw on their professional and personal experiences to help guide the organization. Individuals excited and inspired by our mission, who work in a complementary sector or region, and who will add diverse and underrepresented voices to our Board are especially welcome.

Board terms start on a rolling basis and require a commitment of about 6 to 10 hours per quarter. Board members serve for at least one 2-year term. We’re also offering a Student Board position with a 1-year term.

How to Apply: Let’s have a conversation! Please reach out to Nancy Gilliam, MFPP Executive Director ngilliam@mfpp.org and tell us about you.
